Every post from you is your hack, New Sonic, you always back a novelty, congraculations, with all the features of his hack, waive any of that is it. There is nothing that you can download a lot of features for the Sonic 1 Sonic 2, something that we rarely see in m hack of Sonic 2. HACK RECOMMENDED, I wish all luck in the world for the next versions of the NSA !!!!!!!!!

Note: You will have to fix the position x and y-axis of the shield in Sonic 1, so that fits in the legal character!

    - Sound driver for S3

    - Wall recoil

These 2 are fail IMO. You could just ask Tweaker for the s2 clone driver. Other than that, this is really great!

Porting Mgz Lbz and Sz is a really great start. Hidden palace only from savestate editing? That is really nice that someone is trying himself rather than using ported things. Also:

I invented that name but whatever ;).

Weird, it works for me. Maybe you are blocking geocities (or your ISP is blocking it for you). I mirrored them on imageshack, and I'll delete them if the OP asks me to do so. Beware, though, that they are jpegs at a wrong resolution ;)

While I agree that the Wall Recoil isn't a good idea, I strongly disagree about the Clone Driver. Usage of the Sonic 3 sound driver should be encouraged, since it's simpler than Sonic 2's one, but it's still Z80, so you're not overloading the poor 68K with unnecessary sound code. The Z80 is there for a reason after all. So yeah, let's use the Sonic 3 driver as much as possible!

The issue is porting music to the sound driver, I've tried various times and the result is garbled screeching.

On-topic, this is actually a pretty cool hack. I can see that you've spent a lot of time on this and I do like what you've added, especially the ports and the Dust Desert heat effect. Keep it up!

Its easy to port to the s3k sound driver. I have never tried but it doesn't sound complicated. You just have to byteswap the pointers and replace E3 with F9 and E2 with E4 or vice versia.

    ...this is pretty fun!

I've just endoulged myself into this hack, which is something I very rarely do, since it's only happened with Megamix, Yarmar Edition and Westside Island. These layouts are completely refreshing: and they're fun, too! And I <3 you for using Lava Reef in Lava Mountain, I've always dreamt of having the proper song there, since I used s2mp3 to get it there. But now, <3 <3 <3 <3 (Yes, I do know you used the the S3 Driver)

Apparently you've missed the entire point in using the Clone Driver--ease in data management. If the goal was to optimize the 68k for extra cycles as much as possible, then you may as well use the original Sonic 2 sound driver; after all, it has compressed music data and everything! Sure, it has that nasty limit on song size, but let's just forget that ever existed...

Seriously, though--the advantage in 68k SMPS is 32-bit song pointers and relative pointers in song data. The dynamic nature of the data itself as well as the expansive nature of the driver itself (being written in 68k) makes it the superior choice for any Sonic 2 hack. The Sonic 3 sound driver works in the context of Sonic 3, however, where extra cycles being available is crucial; Sonic 2, not so much.

Also, that's ignoring how all the sound effect calls in the game need to be changed, too.

There is one upside to this 'Sonic 3 Music' thing, you have got each individual music track for every zone, act and special stage, which is normally almost impossible in Sonic 2's default sound/music stuff, maybe you can turn this disadvantage to an advantage if you know what I mean ;) .

My hack is not 100% compatible with Kega yet. If you use this emulator, the songs are with wheezing.

    It works properly in Gens.

Y'know, you should also be testing it with Regen. While I prefer Kega and stuff, and even though the accuracy is very high, it's worthwhile to test it. Oh, and, don't test in Gens, please. Sure, it's nice when you've got a new DAC bank that works, as mine does. I mean, it works in Kega, Picodrive and Gens, but in that order. Gens is so I can hear the drum samples themselves.

I take it it doesn't work on the on-site emulator for hacktube?

It's pretty cool. Dark Base Zone is the best level into this hack. Also, this great music fits very well. I hope to see the dust Desert Zone bugs fixed... My conclusion is: Is rising one more future great hack!!

    I'm very impressed. <_<
