As I didn't want to be part of this at first, this is an exception. In the years that I have been around this place, I'm quite surprised to see that I wasn't the only one who felt this way. For far to long I've wanted to say something in the very same way Markey did, hell in the same Mike B berry did in the SHC thread, but with me being the cautious type I just stayed quiet about it. even now with some of the others here that agreed proved my suspicions about the place over the years. Others might not see this as a problem or can see it but may try to deny it, but I actually started noticing this back as early as 2012 which ironically enough was the very same year that Mike also said he noticed, and while it wasn't as bad as it is now, He pretty much hit the nail on the head about how this place is half the time and though i doubt anyone notices or cares for that matter but even I myself don't really come here much anymore due to the fact that I can't be bothered with this place. I'm tired of seeing members bashing and talking ill of others for the most unnecessary reasons, or seeing others being to picky over the smallest little thing, along with a bunch of other things that's just plain ridiculous. call me rude, shallow or whatever you want but As mike sated in his quote, It's reasons like what he said in the SHC thread why poeple can't be bothered with the community anymore and I'm sorry to say that I'm becoming one of those people. Also in regards to Lazlo's post, While I can understand than some of the new members that's been coming here recently have not been the best, I don't think doing a retrial for all members would be good, nor would make a difference honestly. the way I see no matter how the trail system is setup, even if you were to change it up ex amount of times, there will always be that few who would cause a dispute, and the fact of saying "if that's what it takes, then so be it" would only give this place more of a bad reputation than it already has. nothing much else for me to say other than I'm glad that someone finally thought to speak up about this and hopefully others will take notice to this not just for now, but for later on as well.

I've been a part of the SSRG from when it was first conceived back in the late 90s. One drama outbreak is not really any different from another and I wanted to avoid this topic, but I'll respond to the previous post and state ideas in general. I've seen more than a fair share of "bad attitudes" and drama. This scene has been nothing but drama for a long time now. It started long before 2012. It started and ended many times. The first one that I remember was the fight between Sonic Pandemonium and Secrets of Sonic the Hedgehog. Between Soneec and Andre Dirk. I'm fairly certain neither of them is in the community anymore. I know for a fact that Andre isn't. Then there was SSRG vs. Sonic Cult, Sonic Classic vs. SWS2B, Perfect Chaos, The Area 51 lockdown, The Tweaker debacle -- these are all just a few scandals and wars that have happened in the past almost twenty years.

The problem with this community is that it has people in it. People are prone to having opinions and opinions differ. This causes drama. There are differing opinions on what needs to happen with this community. Or at least there were. We've made up our minds at this point. This will be a website for the intelligent discussion and reverse engineering of the Sonic the Hedgehog games. There is no room for idiots. We shouldn't have to be nice to idiots. We shouldn't have to give a consolation prize to everyone. Grow a fucking spine.

I read Mike's post. I agree, but not for the reasons he listed. He went into our hacking contest topic and took a giant, steaming dump on it. He aired his dirty laundry where it didn't need to be. It did bring things we've been planning to a head, however. Things are going to change. This community will be better because of it. We aren't retrialing everyone that's already a member. That being said we're not continuing the way things have been in the past. It's obvious that it hasn't worked.

As for being glad that someone finally spoke up about it? People have been speaking about "it" for years. SSRG has been an outlier and had a "bad" reputation after the Sonic Cult shit over a decade ago. It's time to change that once and for all. I'm just glad that all the staff is finally on board to do something about it.

I personally am for a big change up in the attitudes here. Learning from our mistakes of allowing this will be a big step towards doing this, IMO.

^As for the problem with the community: You do realize that communities can't not have people in it, right? Drama doesn't happen usually in a mature community, and the staff should usually give out warnings before locking and trashing topics if drama does happen, as we know. (I know I'm being Captain Obvious here, but still, a point needs to be made.)

I don't want this place to be a dead forum, I'm sure none of us want that. I'm open to help the staff as much as I can, so we can grow as prosper as a whole.

I am sure that by now, my point has been understood, and stands as a warning for future reference.

I therefore declare this topic of discussion closed.
