Problem with xm3smps/oerg?

Hi. I'm an amateur hacker, and I don't know too much yet. I'm trying to put custom music in my Sonic 1 hack, but it isn't working right. I think I might be doing something wrong, but I don't think so.


Ok, so here's my problem. My custom music won't play. The weird thing is that when I load up Green Hill Zone, there is no music playing, but when I get a speed-up box, it starts to play perfectly. When the speed-up time is up, the music just stops, but the last notes that were playing sustain. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. It's not just this song either, it happens with any song I make using xm3smps.

 

did you check to see if you loaded all FM, PSG, Noise, DAC into xm3smps? (I know I don't have trouble doing this) and did you import from other sonic 1 music binaries? (Come to think of it, I am working on a video tutorial on how to work with the son of a gun.)

 

Yeah. i mean it works perfectly fine in the preview, and in game when I have the speed shoes, but without the speed power-up, it refuses to play,

Your XM won't play its instruments on my computer.


Try using xm4smps to import it instead of xm3smps/oerg.

 

What is your song's tempo? if the second digit (the tempo modifier) is $01 it will behave exactly as you've described.
