Out of curiosity, how close is Regen to actual hardware? I mean both in terms of the CPU and what not as well as the YM2612 chip.

That doesn't really tell me how accurate it is, only that it's allegedly more accurate than Kega. Although from personal experience it probably is, Regen is pretty touchy when it comes to misaligned code.

I did find one inaccuracy with Regen the other day, I was working on a sound test for the Sonic 3 Z80 sound driver, and it was crashing on hardware and working fine in Regen. I was stopping the Z80 cpu then trying to access Z80 ram immediately without waiting for the cpu to actually stop. Regen had no problem with it, but on hardware it hard locked.

On the other hand, in Kega you don't have to stop the Z80 at all.
