Planning to showcase your ROM hack very soon? Just before you start posting your thread, you will need to follow these guidelines before you share your work with the general public.

    1) Describe what your ROM hack is about

Discuss what your project is about. What is your vision, and what makes it special? Did you create a new adventure, replace Sonic with a different character, or achieve a remarkable technical feat? Whatever it is, summarise it or even dive into the details and give us the full picture if there's a unique plot or backstory behind your project. You want to bring attention to what makes your project special to get people playing it.

    2) Please provide some form of media showcasing your ROM hack

Now that you've got your description out of the way, you will need to show evidence of your work to get people intrigued. Without it, your thread lacks hard evidence to suggest you put in the effort to showcase your vision in action.

Taking these screenshots is entirely up to you, you can push the print screen button or use the screenshot feature using your emulator. Just as long as there are visible images of your project presented. Do keep an eye on the resolution of your image, making sure it's not too large to be visible. If that's the case, you will need to hide your images under a spoiler tag by clicking on the Insert button of your toolbar and placing the image attachments between the tags.

    3) Be sure to credit those who assisted your ROM hack

Make sure you keep a list of people who helped you with your project so you can credit them. Usually, a name is fine, but it's best to say what they've done to aid your work, be it coding or sprite artist, for example. Any assets you've used that are accessible online for the public to see and use, credit them as well. This includes code you found from source codes, sprite sheets, music ports (from a public disassembly or music pack), etc.

    4) Provide a download link

Title says it all. There are a few ways you can include your ROM: either by dragging and linking it to your thread or setting up a download link taking you to a file-hosting site (like Google Drive or even one you created yourself).

One final thing: If you don't know how to structure your threads, look at other people's threads and see if you can follow in their footsteps.

These guidelines must be followed before submitting your work. If we notice that not everything is followed above, then we will send a reminder for you to edit your thread to abide by them. Failure to do so after a week's notice will result in the thread being locked and trashed.

You wanna make sure your work stands out, so let's make sure these guidelines are all being followed!
