    Introduction:
It took a long time (3 months) after the release of Beta 2! A lot has changed. Now it's time for time travel - Back In Time!
Since SHC 2015 can once again move, I decided not to test the patience of players and decided to release the Pre-Release hack Sonic: Back In Time!

    Hack did:
EGOR TF (Aka Lishay_TH) - code, idea, graphics.
JK.FOX - Structure and level design, music.
    VladislavSavvateev - code
    VladikComper - code
    Thank you so much:
TheBlad768 - help with the bosses
    S_T_D - some music
    Ivan YO - one track.

Made it to Casino Street act 2 (wasn't that a zone in Sonic 4?). From what I've seen so far, this hack's alright. A little weird at times, though. I mean, why does act 1 of the first two zones have such strange palettes, especially Casino Street, where you can barely see the foreground? The first boss is interesting, not exactly the most original, but I guess that wasn't what this hack was going for, but it's so strange to see a boss you can't hit until it reaches the lowest of its hovering motion. It's almost like fighting MZ's boss with Knuckles, complete with his lower jump. Also, I played up until where I did, because I noticed act 2 was just a palette swap of act 1. Got a game over in the same massive bottomless pit, too. On a slightly related note, why do hack always retain the lives system? It's so annoying to go through the entire game again because a less than well-placed bottomless pit got in the way. I only got as far as I did in this hack because the level select code wasn't changed. But, back on topic, first impressions are good. Just gotta mind the weird bits.

Was it just me, or did all the acts of the GHZ level have the same/very similar layouts?

Also, couldn't quite beat the first boss.

My guess Bakayote is that he plains to add Time Travel into the hack. I could be totally wrong on this of course, but it just seems like that's what he will be planning in the future. I played this a couple weeks back so I don't remember it too well. I did somewhat like the boss though, but just like Clownacy I found that having to hit him at his lowest hovering height was a bit strange and to me a little annoying.

The palettes if I am remembering correctly, were decent but sometimes the forground and background would clash, most noticeable in, I think act 1 of Casino Street. I never fell into said bottomless pit though, which I find weird, because I always find and fall into them in hacks that have them. I did notice after the first act that the next had slight changes, It didn't confuse me though because of what this hack is called, which is why I think your intention is to add time travel for the next release. Overall this hack has some potential to be pretty interesting in the future, Ive always had a soft spot for the time travel gimmick. Good luck to you.

Yes, all 3 acts have SAME layout, throughout the hack. Not only that, but in my opinion the layout is really bad. Even the somewhat nice bosses dont make up for it, even if Vladikcomper made awesome one. This hack seems like it was done halfway and then slapped into the market, which is never good idea. Sorry, but I did not enjoy this...

...how the hell did I not notice that until Casino Street?

I tell you what I did notice, though: that half-implemented spin dash with the sprites off-centre. That blasted Hacking Studio, man...

Oh didn't know that thing still exists. I wish people would try to learn how to implement those things themselves, or better yet figure out how to make new moves. I'd like to see more s2 or s3k hacks as well, since some of these s1 hacks are starting to feel similar to me, at least this hack has some art changes so it doesn't feel as similar to me. I thought the layouts were okay, I don 't remember running into too many dick moves, but its been a couple weeks and my long term memory isn't so good. I might re-visit it and edit my last post if there is anything I need to add.

Edit: Because of some of it sounding rude.

You know what I hate about Sonic Hacking Studio? It broke the ring sound, to only be on one speaker. This is one of the most irritating issue for headset users like me, and nobody bothers to fix it. But I think its nice tool to someone just starting out, but definitely not good for someone who has hacked for longer.

The reason for the people still using that, because it has a new version (3.0 if I'm right) with more utilities.

Looks like S1's driver to me. The ring sound doesn't sound broken in this hack, at least.
