Congratulations to everyone for winning a trophy, especially the ones I helped in such as VTuber in S1 and Sonic 2 Pink Edition. This year was a blast and was a massive step comparing to last year.

Also a few friends and I decided to make our own reviews on the Retro entries for pleasure. This is so creators can see what the public thinks about their hacks in detail, what went well and what they can improve. You can also have your say if you want to by clicking on the link below:

    Link is here.

As I said, this is mainly a thing I did for fun and doesn't associate with SHC in general meaning that all evaluations written are unofficial and doesn't mean you will be a judge. As previously said, this is a way for the public to also say their opinions on the hacks.

Other than that, here's to another successful SHC~

Now that the contest is over for this year, I would like to say a few things:
    • I have thoroughly enjoyed being a judge this year. There have been some ups and downs (as expected), but for the most part, the experience has been a pleasant one. I want to thank everyone for taking part. Whether it's an entry in the contest, or the expo, showcasing your work to the masses can be an incredibly daunting task, and getting evaluated for your work can also be mentally taxing. However, I felt that this year, the process ran a lot smoother than in the past. This allowed us to judge entries with a much more focused perspective for our respective categories, and also allowed us more time in ensuring our evaluations and votes were cast with as much knowledge and as understanding as possible
    • I want to congratulate all of those that won a trophy. There was some fantastic work on display this year that is above and beyond what I was expecting. To those that didn't win a trophy; do NOT feel disheartened, frustrated, annoyed, etc. I know how easy it can be to let this happen. From experience, I think you should use this opportunity to improve your project, taking on board the feedback that both contest judges and the community have given you. Finally, I know some people will also question the results and the outcome of the contest. To those people I will say this: Look at the community trophies and votes. If they are in line with the judges' trophies and votes, then it's not just a small handful of people who are in agreement as to who should win what. I know this may be hard to stomach, but again, do NOT seeing this as a personal attack on yourself, your team, or your work. At the end of the day, we all want to see the best out of this community and I want to see each and every project thrive, and become the best it can be
    • Finally, to all contest entries participants, I hope you find my evaluations fair and helpful to you. If you want to discuss anything further, please get in contact with me through discord, PM, or email. I will be happy to go over my comments and clarify anything if you so wish. Again, I want to see your projects become the best that they can be, and I am more than happy to offer feedback and improvements where necessary in order to help achieve that
Thanks once again to my fellow judges, streamers, admins, and moderators of the Sonic Hacking Contest 2021. Here's to next year and the 20th Sonic Hacking Contest!

We continue to receive your evaluations of the SHC and this is a reminder that the form at https://shc.zone/feedback will be open for another week, so let us know what you want for 2022.
