Sonic 1 Telephone Hack #1.

I may not want to contribute, but that doesn't mean I don't want it to improve. Heck, if it were improved, I would contribute. Of course, what's considered an improvement differs from person to person, hence the need to vote, which I did.

 

Hey now, no need to be facetious, the whole "ban" thing is irrelevant to the situation. I am free to ask questions as a casual user, without being seen as some sort of interrogating staff member you know.

I was just interested in the irony of the first page containing a large portion of negativity, followed by a quick switch of positivity suddenly and coincidentally, and thought I'd question it, that's all. Don't be so paranoid, this ain't big brother d=

 

Ok I am taking into account that I do a list. But that does mean that I will limit it to 5 to 10 people at a time.

 

Oh! A community project, delightful. I might do something in it when I have spare time and when I can get my turn. It wasn't in my plans but I always wanted to contribute on something like this =)

EDIT: I've got a question. So, when you get your turn, you can do whatever you want (obviously without changing anything the other members have done), or if you have an idea, you can discuss whether it could be applied to the other members working on the hack?

 

Yes You can work on everything you want but the thing that you are not allowed to do is to add stages. Unless It's Sonic 2 where you can add in the lost levels. Sure you can discuss this aswell. But I recomend going to the IRC to do so.

 

Would telephone hacks be allowed in the Sonic Hacking Contest?
I'm slowly getting towards finishing, just a few more tracks to do and I'll upload. Also, are we going with GitHub or Dropbox because I personally like the idea of Dropbox but the winner of the poll was GitHub..

 

Github it is. Also Sonic Hacking Contest question goes to the admins not me. However I personally think no.

I was going to ask for me being the next working on this, but I'm not quite sure whether anybody else has asked for their turn first.

EDIT2: The list I am talking about have 5 spots. When someone is done they get removed from that list and gets added to credits while leaving annother spot open. 1 spot is not filled. Mr Cat is after Dandaman. Then comes AbyssalLeopard then comes ThomasSpeedrunner. However I need to fix some errors from the initial one. Also poll is up soon about SHC.

Alright, since there's a new poll up, and since I voted "no" on it (and will probably be the only one to do so), I figured I'd elaborate on why I chose what I chose.

I, personally, want to see this grow into something bigger than just an entry in the hacking contest. For now, I'm going to keep what I have personally proposed to a couple of the judges to myself, because there's no use in disclosing it without any sign of it going anywhere. I don't really expect it to happen, but it would be nice if it did. Seeing as you've already got the go-ahead from the contest people though, there's nothing I can really do to hold you back.

I'm really happy to see that this is a thing though, and I'm glad to see that many people are participating. I really look forward to seeing where it goes.

 

I voted for maybe. A huge project like this really has some great potential to be awesome, and maybe if the hack is in a decent state when the hacking contest rolls around then I'd love to see it be entered. However I also sort of wish you guys would wait until it's finished to see just how awesome the hack will be once everyone who wished to participate has done so. This is a awesome project, and whatever you guys choose to do I'll be definitely playing the hack whenever it does get released, whether or not it'll be in a somewhat finished state just in time for the hacking contest.

 

I can see what you mean by that yes. That's why I made the poll in the first place. I do actually agree with you mostly Misinko. However I bet that Retro will do the same in the future maybe. (Hopefully they do.)
