I love your new past bg for GHZ!
(It looks like Sonic's walking on mid-air... XD)
Past bg art updated:
That looks nice, and I hope all art in your hack is this awesome. Is it totally custom art or art taken from other Sonic games? It has that Sonic CD-like feel, which I really like. It looks like you have some kind of filter on in your emulator. Next time when you take a screenshot, please disable filters and use PNG. JPEG's files are 10 times bigger than PNG and still have less quality. Thanks
I love it as well animemaster. I don't know why, but that background makes me think of sonic 2 retro remix for some reason, even though the backgrounds are completely different.
The bg is from palmtree panic future, thats proberly why it looks more sonic cd lol. The fg art is a mixture of art, the aiz tree, my own ghz pattern in the sqaures but yet to be finished. And I plan to make the grass look more past ish with a rough concept I drew out the other day. And may add some vines over some fg to look more like nature has grown over or something. But thanks guys! I hope you'll like the finished product .
Edit: looking at it now, the tree looks a bit messy, agreed?
Double post meh:
I got inpatient
Sorry not much to see..... titlecard will be improved to look more sonic cdish, using sonic cd text if possible.
HOLY CRAP! That title card looks awesome. Does it have the Sonic CD kind of intro effect? I WANT IT IN ME HACK! You will probably be able to extract the font from Sonic CD or from screenshots and then port it.
I tried to replicate a simular effect to sonic cd, by making the titlecards move in slower making it smoother. So to awnser your question I'd say pretty much yes, but hope to improve it as I do with everything.
Haven't posted in here for a long time, so why not?
Why don't you use the Sonic 2 or Sonic 3D font? Nice work there, although if I had to wait that log before editing my options I would probably close down the hack. Make it a bit faster, or do the sliding in of all options at once. I wish I could do this kind of stuff...
Because I feel like they are totally overused. I want something unique. If my art skills don't magically improve in the next two weeks, I will probably use them though.
Yeah, it's really slow, I know. Making the entire thing faster is not even possible anymore. I think I will change it so multiple lines at once are getting loaded. This requires to remove code I've been working on for the entire day, but even if I would be the best programmer in the world, it's useless if the output sucks. :V
Talk to me on MSN later on and I'll get something sorted for you.
I'll come back to you, promised. =P
Thank goodness. I'm glad it won't be so slow now.
Shinobi 3 Options font is awesome. Streets Of Rage 3 font would be nice there too.
Thanks to MarkeyJester, you will now have to endure Sonic 2 with speed boosters....everywhere. Before anyone asks, I don't know how to code a mine cart so be thankful that it's not going to be in the hack. If I get this done in time, it'll be submitted to the hacking contest and SAGE.
Needs more speed boosters.
Will broken physics be an exclusive with this?
Yes I'm going to try to fuck the physics up.
Yeah, this is going to be better than atomic sonic, if that's even possible. But isn't there already a sonic 4 genesis edition being created by StephenUK?
Anyways, I might as well post the splash screen I plan on implementing in Sonic 1 No-Name:
IDK if it is even possible on the MD, but the base for this was the Sega CD startup without sprites. Maybe make the orange logo as a seperate object with its own pallet line? I also heard that the MD has a VDP mode where you can just write tiles to VRAM and they appear on the screen without needing mappings, in the order they were written to the VDP. Is that correct, and if so, how would I enable and disable that mode?
Edit: Fuck, just noticed the white for the text is completely wrong
