Right then everyone, I have a very special assignment for you all, and it involves collecting as many rings are you possibly can, have a go at this:

    What the hell is this...?

Guess I should explain...why does the screen have a goddamn spaz attack when you collect rings?

... Realy Thomas? Thats the joy of it all. Reminds me of Sonic 2 Raped edition for some reason except the randomness is more concise with how the level works together over everything. So this kinda cancels out the post. Oh well, I'll say it anyway, great job.

Seems like an appropriate effect for a character losing sense of their surroundings. Would be funny if implemented in a game where everything gets progressively crazy the more intoxicated the character gets.

Oh fuck this is awesome and it kind of feels like something bad will happen if you get too many, seems like something for Sonic.exe to pop up for lol

hmm... The game still progresses at 300 + Rings. This is one excellent hack provided it is incredibly hard to crash from lag.

    Here's my attempt:

P.S: I cheated using fastforward button. It was so god damn slow.

I was at 15 rings and then rolled on a collapsing platform and it crashed.

Edit: With a static sound. How do I tag a wav file so I can let you hear what I mean?

Possible bug: when I got in the situation featured in the spoiler below, the "end of level music" didn't play, and there was a trailing note throughout the whole score tally.

(yes, that's a perfect in the first special stage)

update: also, the beginning of GHZ2's music was still being wrong, and it fixed itself while the title card appeared, along with the level which was still being fuzzy.

Still, it's awesome. I drank only two beers tonight, yet it feels like I'm drunk anyway. Maybe that's why I'm so good at it, because I'm USED to be drunk so I already played the game in a state similar to this :p

I wouldn't advise driving or operating any heavy machinery for at least an hour after playing this hack.  Thank you MarkeyJester for meddling with my senses. :D

I was just really unprepared for what this hack does, that's all. I hadn't realized what the hell was going on until I played a bit more.

...Methinks I'll record some gameplay of this later today and upload it to Youtube =)

I do agree that it was something a bit unexpected, truthfully, I thought it was going to be something entirely like S2Rape. But alas, we got something that is handled much more carefully.

Ha ha ha oh god my eyes. I think the slowdown ruins it, but good god ow.

Thanks, you've given me an idea of something I want to implement in my perfectly ordinary ROM hack. :>

Contrary to popular belief, this is what the Mega Drive on PAL actually is like.
