Hi everybody! Today I want to present my hack on Sonic 2 that restores some of proto conceptions! In this demo presented 2,5 zones: Emerald hill, Desert level (at this moment- untitled), and first act of Metropolis. After it begins EHZ and game starts again. Were realized wall recoil, some unused animations, and few unused conceptions. Bugs: Bad lava collisions on MTZ Problems with loops on Desert level. nice hack but i only played two zones because of me getting a game over. Anyway, there is some good and bad news. lets start with the bad news. for the speedshoes in emerald hill zone, it gets slowed down but in reality it should be getting faster, another bug is that on the sega screen when sonic runs down the sega screen, its slightly corrupted, now idk if thats because you needed to add more sprites to sonic and update the DPLC's and such, so that needs fixing too. another one is the title card for dust hill zone, its empty and the only things that exists is *Zone* and The *act number* so maybe try and put more effort for the title cards. there are also some minor bugs like a screen flash in emerald hill zone on kega. now because its on kega, I'm not going to roast too hard. there is some flawed level design in dust hill zone, for instance the sand, there is some bottomless pits to your death that i don't like, same goes for some non collision sand, but i'm willing to let that slide because iv'e seen that in other sonic 2 beta hacks in sonic 2 the lost levels in the same zone. my total score to this hack is 6/10 good score/hack but does have some room for improvment. Keep up the good work tho.

A wonderful hack! The approach to music is just great! I watched all the levels through the par-codes, there is already a Hidden Palace on the way. But I would like to discuss about the place with the mountain where it is necessary to loop the level vertically. I have the developments of this level and I can share it, since there is a more significant idea for a hack than this.
Thanks! Actually, you can go to HPZ, WZ and even early OWZ through level select, you just need to know code (666, lol) and select right zone That pictures of HPZ looks impressive! Is it mockups, or your actual hack?
It's my actual hack) But I have a little bugs, for example, transparent water in going to top of the level. You can speak in Russian? I want to help with Sonic 2 concept, and discuss by this. Can you send me to inbox?
These new concepts put into HPZ in your hack really makes the zone more lively than the prototype versions, makes it feel like a finalized version of the level if it was ever indeed finished in Sonic 2's development time.
So, I reread the first post here, and I noticed that I didn't tell you about my plans at all! (oops) Well, the Sonic 2: Archives project aims to restore discarded concepts that were used in the early stages of game development. This is music that in many cases will be remixes of demo recordings by Masato Nakamura, it will be graphics from prototypes, or concept art. Or invented from scratch. Also enemies, and some abilities, like wall recoil. How far will this hack go? Well, I don't want to immediately set a goal to restore all 18+ zones, to begin with - I want to restore zones from the "present", that is, this Emerald Hill Ocean Wind Wood/Secret Jungle Sand Shower/Dust Hill/Desert World Metropolis. If I manage to restore them, then I will work on other levels. Now I have a large team, and I think this task is feasible. Who knows, maybe we'll even make it to shc! ^_^ I hasn't new demo, but I have a few screenshots for this thread Btw, what do you all thinks about Tails' flight? Should it be in game?
I think that: 1. Tails flight should be in the game. 2. I think your ideas for this hack are cool 3. you should call the desert Sand Shower for now
I saw this hack on Youtube and it looks cool. I wonder though, if you and the team do add the other zones from the other time periods. Will time travel also be added?
Time travel is a plot feature, that works not like in SCD. It's a part of story I'm and some of my team is busy by studying, have exams, so I want it, but can't say how much time periods will be added. Ofcource, I have a plans for Medieval and Past, but for the first- we need to make at least Present

I believe this may be the first time I've seen that zone have parallax scrolling so good job on that!
