Sonic 3 & Knuckles Hack by Il Shiki

Obviously agreeing with every other post in the thread here;
Instead of ignoring polite (at least for what some members of this community can do ) criticism on a honestly bland hack, learn and improve from it. I'm a minute or so in so far and questioning if I loaded up the right rom. Might download from another post because I get the feeling you uploaded the wrong file...

oh, wait, nevermind as suddenly an instrument or few in the music has gone and there is a life monitor. Seems the miniboss has been... changed.



no, this is not a tile that simply didn't generate - I tested that... rip Tails.
...though, I died alongside Tails. Comrades in arms until death!

got a little bored and loaded up level select, went on flying battery act 2. Spindashed into random life box and found a Special Stage Ring... makes it a little easy to find.
(also, if you die, you can just pickup the life again.)



I'm not seeing much but dickmove death pits here. Tails dying there wasn't even an accident, surprisingly.



I think that's all I can take, I'm good thanks bye. Seriously, you can improve: just listen to criticism

You're still not listening to anyone in the thread... Please take our constructive criticism and apply it to your hack. All I see is the same thing over and over again, and still you're posting large screenshots. What exactly are you even changing with each release? :V

 

You will be everyday to release new version hack without any progress?

You're all a bunch of untalented, tasteless, chode sucking, hacks. I am disappointed in you people. Insulting and hurting a poor newcomer's feelings.

Sonic 3 & Kunuckles by ya boi Lil' Shinki is a tasteful masterpiece. This hack could easily the best thing I've played as of 2016. Let me give a run down of this hacks finer and stronger points.

- There are many deathpits in the boss. Now for some, it is the literal uneven tits, but for me, it is perfectly balanced. The pits are a cruel, yet sobering reminder of life as we know it. Life isn't fair, and neither are these bosses. Sometimes the boss becomes overbearing, just like life. And just like life, you just wanna give up, thus the pits. If it's too hard, you fall in and try again when you're better prepared. In some cases, it is a mercy killing programmed by the bosses themselves to hurl you in, as they know it would not only be devastating, but also embarrassing if you, the player, were being bitch slapped by said boss.

- I enjoy the fact that you update us on every little nuance of progress on your hack. It is refreshing to know that you know your starving audience is waiting for your delicious product..

- That part at the AIZ2 airship. Just perfect balance of challenge and fun any Sonic fan needs.

- I love how HCZ1 is the easiest level. It was a much needed breather, and I'm happy you did that for me.

All in all, don't listen to the haters. This hack is perfect! Never stop doing what you think is right no matter what people say!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU LIL' SHINKI!!!

God, this hack is pure shit. Just everything about this hack.
AIZ1 is actually beatable, but you have to take a risk for a second just to activate the boss.
AIZ2 Fuck that part. I stopped playing after I died about 5 times trying to get to the boss itself.

 

I think telling him all this stuff is useless, because sometimes people will never change... But I hope he will understand this.

 

I know who this guy is, he is a fan of TheBlad768 and has been asking Blad on YouTube some questions regarding Sonic 3 hacking, I figured out what he was trying to do so I decided to wait and see what he presents, so now here it is, so for you II Shiki here is a short review:

This hack is super lazy, the only significant changes are the arenas, the starting positions on certain levels and the fact that there are no rings in certain bosses, I can tell what you were trying to do, you were trying to make this the next Sonic 3 and Knuckles Hard Bosses Edition but there was no effort put into this whatsoever, HBE had effort put into it, even the older versions (most notably HBE V400). Also the layout for AIZ2's bomb sequence is the dumbest edit I've ever seen in a hack, since this part is supposed to be an autoscroller you get sucked back in by the camera and you can get hit by a bomb and then die by falling into a bottomless pit, speaking of bottomless pits they are plastered nearly everywhere, why are they even there? they cause the player to lose focus of the boss because they are worried they might make a mistake and fall into the bottomless pit.

Overall this wasn't fun at all. I would suggest taking this hack into another direction, I understand that Blad's hack may have inspired you to create an S3&K boss hack but this was the wrong way to do it, this is something you should try again in the future, by then (if you are willing to do this anyway) you should be able to create your own new bosses, for now I would suggest starting from scratch and creating a simple layout and pallete hack. Also I really don't like the fact that you aren't taking any criticism into consideration, that's the sign of an arrogant hacker who doesn't care about what people think of his work.
