SOTI, I think he was referring to the ASM edits that weren't done from guides, and we didn't STEAL them from guides. Those guides were put up for people to use them, so technically there's no way to steal them from a guide.

You could credit the creator of the guides. Crediting yourself for ASM edits is useless if you didn't even implement your own things.

What are you complaining about? I meant the ASM edits like our stuff, I gave credit there to other people too. Don't be such a wiener SOTI. And my ASM has improved a lot if you're wondering. What is it that I 'stole from a guide'? It's not just me behind this, there's 2 other people too. And I am not a 'thieving prick.' I gave credit to what I can remember, and I added to it. The act-based music system Moon implemented, so I don't know about that. The monitor edits are all mine however - I implemented them by putting together code. Now if you would excuse me, I will continue hacking. This post that you made above here is simply junk and I feel it should be trashed. Also SOTI, I gave credit to the people that made the guides. I took an old disasm I had with spindash in it and I can't remember who ported it or from where it came since a friend did it. As I said on the post, please leave a comment if I left you out of the credits. The stuff you call 'stealing' is not actually stealing, it is 3 people working together and fixing and coding their own stuff. Oh and I did implement lots of stuff - for example the sfx fixes, s2 sprites, a cutscene that is coming, shitloads of fixcrap, dynamic music system, and so on. I know ASM now better than I used to months ago. I feel extremely offended by what you said and I demand an apology from you. I wrote it all on my site, you just gotta read it.

Well if you credit yourself for ASM and all of it was done with guides, yeah that's just stupid, but if you credit yourself and you actually do stuff that didn't come from a guide and you credit people for anything that was done with a guide, that's different.

THat's exactly what I do. I code my own stuff, and people help me fixing bugs. Those Credits I listed on my site are all I can remember, and about all the guides I used.

We should probably get back on topic before MarkeyJester closes the topic again.

That be true. Anyways, we have Peelout coming in the next release. Credits go to Selbi for providing us with the code, and joseph for implementing it into our disasm!

There's also going to be a chaos emerald in every act 3 that you must find in order to get an emerald bonus. That was Joseph's idea, and it kind of makes me think of Sonic Advance 2. Also, if anybody happens to go to the special stage and it screws up near the chaos emerald, we're already aware of that, as well as the life counter/rings fucking up at random times.

OK gentlemen, stop RIGHT FUCKING THERE, enough of the flaming, anyone who wishes to give any form of argumental posts with no construction beyond this point, may join the trash club, let's start again shall we?

    -----------------------------------

The problem I find is that, rarely anything has changed sinse the last release, and the things that have changed aren't at all impressive in my own opinion.

The S3&K sound driver would've been a great idea provided it was used for newer music that sounds great, insted of a library of S3&K songs unchanged, if you don't understand how to make music for that driver, then porting it would've been pointless. The asm edits I could rarely make out differently from a normal Sonic 1 game, if there are edits, you haven't shown them well in those vidoes. I'll give props to you for using the S2 sprites insted of S3 simply because everyone else has used em, but that's it I'm afraid.

Maybe start looking at how games work in general...

Actually, there are more ASM edits than what were in this release. This is a 2 day old release, and I was going to wait until peel-out, the act 3 emerald, and some new music was in for a release, but theocas and joseph said otherwise. The sonic 2 sprites, we used them because we think they're better than the S3 sprites. The S3 sprites' eyes are weird.

That's true. We're all gonna stop flaming, but there are quite a few ASM changes under the hood. You'll see it in the next release Markey. Try downloading it and you'll notice some changes right away. There will also be an options menu and possibly a savegame feature comming as well, but I'm gonna have to port them first. I am also working on custom art, but SonEd2 doesn't want me to import any art. Thanks for your input anyways. Yeah, we just wanted to show off what we had so far, so people could give us some input. I ported the S3K sound driver because we all agreed on it, and we hopefully have some music for it sooner or later.

Thats nice an all, but I feel there is no need to show us things that are common, that has really be changed much to make us be interested. Its cool you've got some stuff you haven't showed us, but if your not going to say give a 'bigish update' with new this etc etc. Then best not show us something we see and know all to well, or anything we might expect. I think we've seen it all, or have we? its up to you to make that decision so don't let me down :( .

We have been working on some stuff lately, and I will make sure we don't have another release (unless it's a bugfix, depending on whether people report bugs or not) and I'm sure you guys will be suprised.

Great hack you've got here. I was also expecting a functional Splats badnik.

Thanks, but why were you expecting Splatsdabunny (I like that spelling XD)? We never mentioned it, but we might implement it later on, so thanks for the suggestion. Also, we have a topic on the new SRL: http://theocas.net/sonicromland/archives/17

I just noticed that you guys released another build. After the hacking contest, we need a lot of progress before releasing another build.

Considering you guys are on the same team and are working co-ordinately, wouldn't you benefit more by using an IM service such as Live, AIM, Pidgen, IRC or Skype? You would be able to discuss your issues and get an answer in no time flat, insted of filling up your thread which is used mainly for our opinions and questions related to your project.
