That looks really tough. Are those seemingly random gravity switches activated by you or are they automatic?

Now that is what I call custom artwork. Very nicely done!

Now as for the other stuff...

    1. The music you chose (Solar Man's stage from Mega Man 10) would probably fit better in a level like Scrap Brain Zone.

    2. Come to think of it, the artwork you drew would probably fit better in a Scrap Brain Zone-type level as well.

    3. The level layout is WAY too short. Though that is excusable if you didn't finish the layout.

    1. I'm not really sure in music for this segment. If she is fully fit then leave:)

    2. hmm, this area is classified as Zone  Scrap Brain. I just made this type of plant zone under Eggman. Although it is not important :7

    3. It's hard to do everything right away, I don't have time to make layouts.

But anyway thank you ^ ^

    I work completely alone-_-

Wha??? No seriously just what's your point on this if this is not yours and it's just an edit of a regular Wii cover template? This is something you probably should have posted in the lounge or something. That and what do you mean by it beats chunk editing? That's for something entirely different than what you've shown here which by the way is not that great of an edit. Unless you mean a different kind of chunk editing.

Here's an update to that thing you didn't care about because it's related to Mario.

I now have working monitors complete with animated graphics. Also, although you can't tell by looking at the image, I managed to get the palette cycling to work on my own. Turns out it's really easy. As of right now, the basic layout is finished, I just need to add enemies.

Looking good. I actually am surprised that you managed to port that across to Super Mario World. I've never worked with the game before, apart from playing it, but that looks like quite interesting.

Also, I hate to be the one to say this but what does this mean - "due to the fact that the SMW hacking community actually SHARES code"?

The Sonic Hacking Community shares a variety of code for features and such on the SCHG on Retro ( http://info.sonicretro.org/Category:Sonic_Community_Hacking_Guide ), MarkeyJester has a public Motorala 68k guide ( http://mrjester.hapisan.com/04_MC68/ ) and many people are willing to help others if you just asked them. I feel this was an unfair stab at the community and wasn't needed.

What I meant was that the Super Mario World hacking community is more willing to share code with others. The main website for SMW hacking, SMW Central, has code that is free for all to use.

Also, I haven't really seen/heard any isntances of "OMG STOLEN CONTENT" in the SMW hacking community.

But thank you for your feedback anyway.

Oh, and BTW It's actually really easy to create completely custom levels for SMW with Lunar Magic.

There are some things I still need to do, such as...

    • Recreate Aqua Lake Zone's badniks and/or create new graphics for existing enemies for the same effect
    • Place the enemies in the level
    • Find a way to port the music (this is gonna be hard)
EDIT: Also, in case you're wondering, this isn't the original layout, it's one I created.

That's actually really cool. I'd love to play through that after it's finished. Do you plan on bringing over any other levels later on?

Looking good. Can't wait to see what it's like with enemies added. It would also be cool if you had a completely underwater level based on act 2.

I decided to show some more screens since I have classes starting in two days and I probably won't be able to work on this as often for a couple months.

Managed to get act transitions working, and there aren't any broken managers or weird issues when the next act loads, it works perfectly like it does in S3K.

Sonic running through one of the new loops in GHZ3 ("new" even though everyone has added a loop like this in GHZ by now =P).

The beginning of a tricky platforming section over spikes at the end of GHZ3.

Yet another redone version of my sunset palette, this time in GHZ4, which I'm just using as a boss level for now, a la Sonic Advance 3 or Sonic 4. I may make it a full level later on though. Not 100% sure yet.

That's all for now, I'd like to show an actual video since I want some feedback on the layouts I have done now, but I still have yet to find an effective way to record (Fusion has palette issues and Gens lags like hell while I'm actually playing). I'm sure I'll figure something out soon though.

Oh, also, here's a shot of the BG I want to use in place of the original GHZ BG:

Soned2 actually has no problem importing this (aside from a few tiles being on the wrong palette line), I just need to figure out how to get it in without screwing the rest of the level art.

Oh wow! When I say this I thought it was one of the hacking experts like Vladicomper, the palettes look really nice and I'm looking forward to seeing what the act transitions are like. Could you put up a video?

Again, still looking for a good recording method, but if you've played Cinossu's Sonic 1 Never Stop Running hack, it pretty much looks like that.

Not too sure about Kega (it uses it's own codec and typically the video has to be converted before actually being used if I remember correctly) but Gens Rerecording can produce a solid video output. And don't worry about the lag while recording; the video itself comes out fine.

Onto your images; I am seeing more and more promising things which make me excited. Looking forward to more progress.
