Epilepsy warning. There's a lot of flashing and blinking. Be careful.

I was programming this boss in 2022, but later development stopped. Now I decided to record a video just so I don't have to delete the current work.

This is not just a port of the boss from the original game, I tried to adapt it to Sonic style. Therefore, the moves will be different.

Enjoy.

Music and SFX are just placeholders. I had other ideas, but ended up adding what was on hand.

Sonic 1: South Island Revisited

I will not say too much, but i can say that this time the project will have time for development, I learned from ReMade(d) and New Adventures that the things needs to be perfect before releasing it, anyway, heres some screenshots of it!

 

ItanaraSonic: A Sonic 1 ROM Hack mixed with beta elements and other Sonic elements.

This is my First ROM Hack without a story or lore and this is just for fun.
GHZ:
Overalls: The background is a bit dim and most of the layout is flat with spacious flowers and trees.
Act 1: Replicating @NotSoDevy 's Sonic 1 CC remake's layout mixed with Final Sonic 1 Layout.
Act 2: It also felt like Sonic 1 CC but most of the layout is my memory
Act 3: Everything's just my memory except some final Sonic 1 bits of the layout.

I don't have a patent on floating platforms with an end-level sign post on it, you're good lol

 

Extreme WIP of my homebrew sonic engine for the Sega Mega Drive, yes this is written in assembly, no SGDK! right how i got basic stage drawing with tile flipping support and scrolling working, with cool distortion effect in the background to test line scrolling.



Big shout outs to snac for making Misty Maze tileset that i'm using for a test stage and Devon for optimizing the background distortion effect.

Because it is. As i mentioned "Big shout outs to snac for making Misty Maze". It was random thing my friend made couple years ago out of boredom, i just had them on my PC so i decided to use them as a test stage.

 

hey SSRG i haven't been here in a WHILE
so behold my shortcomings with S1 Two-Eight and some S2 assets plunked from various versions of the game

i'll prob see what i can do on reconstructing the chunk assets and reorganizing the palette, then prob restoring proper collision
i havent hacked in a second so it might not go very well
