Sonic Hacking Contest 2015

As the contest website's server connection seems to have crashed and burned again [12:10pm GMT], the first time being between 2:20am GMT and 3:10am GMT, I'll post my commet here.  It is concerning the Mega Drive rom with the file name "s3khbv500.0.bin"; I'd give the hack's name, but as I'm again having server connection problems I cannot check it up.  The enquiry that I have is are there any versions compatible with EUR region?  Having grown up with PAL versions of games my epilepsy is accustomed to the slower paced audio, and as such commonly reacts negatively to NTSC audio, especially that of the classic Sonic games (Sonic 1 resulting in garenteed petite mals for example).  I know this is most likely a minor nit-pick but I was really hoping to try out the entry.

I'm not sure if they will display, but here's the technical difficulties I was having with the site in the early hours of the morning, and at present:

UPDATE 10/20: Of course I would get sick the day before.  I have to bump the stream into a 'maybe' status because I'm not sure if I'll be well enough tomorrow

I too have this problem. And this is in the start of contest!

 

We are aware that the site is down and it is being looked into and fixed as we speak. Our apologies for this, but at the moment, there's little we can do.

I think in next year I'll submit a hack in SHC that is called Sonic 3 Hidden Palace Edition and I must win the contest immediately by that.

 

Just to let everyone know, the bug causing the site to go down so often has finally, finally been put to rest. It should remain stable from now on. Hopefully. Please.

 

May I suggest a name change for the Big Trophy next year?

Just to notify @MarkeyJester, I thought Sonic 1: The Next Level was the best hack I have seen out of the bunch. It was dynamic, fast, and mind blowing! Sure I may have only played the first level, but it was enough to permeate my love for this hack. GG, bro.

 

Christ, SomecallmeJohnny's Day 1 stream... If whoever it was that kept nagging CrazyBus be done had known what it would lead to, why the hell not let it wait until the end of the stream? It didn't help that, after the fact, while Johnny's trying to talk about whatever hack at hand, he kept forcing in bus puns. Even then, sometimes they'd all just stop paying attention altogether and go on about something on Twitter. If this were still a judge's stream... I'm not so sure I want to waste another three hours on the next one, I'm really not. Glad there's a variety of streamers here, at least.

 

I agree. His live stream of my hack which came directly after was a disaster. All it was was everyone talking about CrazyBus while Johnny made a few comments on the hack. He also played only five minutes of it.

 

I only spent 5 minutes on it because I got bored. Silver and Shadow weren't available to showcase, so there was nothing else to do. Sorry bud, not to come off as mean, but that's my reasoning. I wish you luck in future endeavors. 

 

Not to come off as a contrarian, but you did miss out on "a Mach Speed section and a custom boss fight", according to the thread.

 

Well if there's time during Friday's hardware stream, I can spend more time on it.
