Sonic Hacking Contest 2015

Well, I cannot seem to log in using my SSRG account. I typed in the name I use to log into the forums, and the correct password, and it doesn't work, but I can log in using my Retro account just fine.

 

Hopefully, my Hack will be better than last year. It has improved alot over the years. The first version sucked, it was only made in 1 week.

 

Sorry for double post, but the same thing happened to me too. But it happened in the Teams section. I tried to enter the username of my members.

 

Yeah, same problem here too... However, my Sonic Retro account hasn't been validated yet. Will I still be able to participate?

EDIT: It just locked me out for trying too many times... It looks like the site doesn't like my SSRG account at the moment. Could I please get permission to use my Retro account? Thanks

 

One thing to try to make sure of is that your username is capitalised the same way, as well.

As for entering, you have an account on here that's a full-on member, so it's fine.

 

The thing is that I did try that and it still didn't work, and I'm out of attempts to try, and I won't be available this weekend to try again because of personal issues. However, it's been speculated that it's the forum software's fault for being a pile of buggy shit.

 

Hm, very strange. Can you tell me exactly what you are typing in as a username?

 

I was typing in my user name, AmateurSonicHacker and the password that I have been using for about 10 years. I changed the password to my Gmail one. I tried too many times and now I can't try again in 12 hours... Oh well. Hopefully everything turns out well. Good luck to my fellow hackers!

 

AmateurSonicHacker, have you ever changed your display name on the forums at all? The Hacking Contest site uses your original username, not your display name on the forums here. I know this has been an issue for some people.

 

Yes. Before, it was AmatuerSonicHacker but I changed it because I realised that I spelt amateur wrong.

 

Then try to login using the misspelled username and the same password as usual. I think this should fix the problem. I mean, either your current username of the misspelled one should work, if they are the only 2 names you have used.

 

I'll have to do that at a later time because it locked me out and I need to wait 12 hours. I'll officially be able to try again at 5am (it's around 12:30am now).

 

I've reset the attempts for SSRG. Those who were locked out can try again. As DA said, try any old display names too. I'll look into updating this, but IVB/IPS really is a load of bollocks.

 

I tried all of my usernames. Still no luck. Could it have something to do with the scrapped(?) log-in names? If it doesn't, then I'm out of ideas.

 

Already got a good amount of entries in so far, seems some people used those numerous deadline extensions well.

Right, the login issue should finally be fixed. Again. It was related to the updates made to IPB since last year's contest. I've reset the link attempts again, and you should be able to use your current display name now.

 

interestingly, team window still shows me as Green Snake. All other issues are fixed except this. I thought to just delete myself and readd to try and fix the issue, but I cant do that with my own account (which is probably a good thing), but I can not login with my Sonic Retro account...

 

I've run into an issue on the site while creating my entry. When I try to upload my hacks rom file, the upload popup just says "unknown" up top, and doesn't upload. I've tried it several times, but that has not changed things. The file I'm uploading is a Genesis rom that's only 2MB, so the file should be valid. Strangely, a default S2 rom will upload just fine, but it only refuses my hack for some reason :T

 

What have you modified about the header? As that's what it reads for validity.

 

Not many days left, the SHC 2015 will start soon with Totally many hacks who i must play all So many new and fresh hacks, like CyberNetic Outbreak or Sonic 1 Burned Edition Version 2.0! Yay!
