Sonic Fan Game Development Kit temporary cancelled due to some advices from Sonic Games Dimension.

I am going to completely restart my hack and move to Hivebrain. Hg is for technical lazies.

Also, I move to Project 28! You may expect for some cool loops, crosses and screws.

And the name of the hack is NOT "Sonic 1: Stardust Gear Edition".

I try to brainstorm some names:

    Sonic: Heavens and Hells.

    Sonic Star Adventure.

    Sonic 1: Blurred Edition.

    An Extraordinary Sonic ROM Hack.

Ultimate Genesis Sonic Hack. (Don't choose this :D)

    South Island Dimensions.
I will also create a thread for the new hack.

    P.S

It's the 100th post in this thread!

That name just sounds like a ripoff of Cinnosu's Ordinary Sonic ROM Hack.

Sonic Star Adventure doesn't sound too bad.

As request by Stardust Gear via PM, thread unlocked and untrashed.  Although, this is the only time it's happening.  Next time a fit is involved, or you request it to be trashed, in the trash it will remain.

    Crosspost from Sonic Games Dimension:

New Dark Dungeon Zone Look: (Act 1)

Do you see that new loop, floor and blocks?

Also, the music has been changed to modified version of Marble Zone.

Added the dust to the spin dash.

And for redhotsonic, when I'll leave this hack, I'll just lock this thread.

The loop looks neat, but the foreground and background palettes clash quite painfully. It doesn't really help that the floor is extremely dark purple next to bright flashy orange. If you lighten up the BG palettes or darken the foreground, it could be great!

Actually, darkening the foreground could be better, as much as the zone's name was "Dark Dungeon" :D

    What NeoFusionBox said.

The red sky is little intense, and should probably be darker. Otherwise, it's perfect :good:

Well, for starters, the BG palette is questionable at best, and while it does show a bit of a dark mood you could just change the clouds to be a dark gray-ish color, with maybe a hint of blue to distinguish the colors. The sky could do with a bit of a lighter tone as well. As for the foreground, it's quite nice, though some parts are kinda eh, such as the yellow spots on the bricks, but overall it isn't too bad. With some effort (yes, good things take time and effort to produce) it could look either really bad or fucking epic. Depends on how much work you put into it.

I am planning my next goal in Sonic 1: SG Edition (Next Name: Sonic Star Adventure).

The goal is to change the appearance of all zones.

I will redesign Dark Dungeon, then Sky Shores, then Bouncy Blast and all zones after it.

    Zone Appearances:

    • Sky Shores Zone will be a floating hills with cloud platforms. I will change the classic flowers and trees, and add fence, and angel statue.
The background will be ported Sky Sanctuary Zone BG from S&K.
The palettes: Act 1 - Something Blue Morning. Act 2 - Later Afternoon, Violet ground. Act 3 - Sunset. Act 4 - Night.
    • Dark Dungeon Zone will be a haunted evil castle with demon statues and some broken blocks here and there.
The background is going to be outside volcanic, and inside creepy, with scary statues. (Please help me about exterior BG...)
Palletes will aim to be dark, since the zone name. Act 1 - Dark Orange/Brown. Act 2 - Dark Red. Act 3 - Darkest level ever. Act 4 - Dawn, Blue.
    • Popsicle Peaks Zone will be a large icy mountains with caves here and there. It will look like Ristar's ice level.
Background - Any ice-themed background, maybe this of Twinkle Snow or Planet Freon.
      Palettes: Act 1 - Early morning, Like Freon 1. Act 2 - Daytime. Act 3 - Green, like Freon 2. Act 4 - Night.
    • Bouncy Blast Zone - It will be a large ameusement park and something like Speed Slider.
      Background - Balloon Park?
      Palettes: Act 1 - Pinkish. Act 2 - Greenish/Blueish. Act 3 - I don't know, but vibrant one. Act 4 - Less Saturated and Darker version of Act 3.
    • Tidal Tank Zone - It will mainly appear as the last version of this, But I will improve this and add glass blocks and pipes.
Background - Tidal Tempest, Good Future.
      Palettes: The last palettes.
    • Speedy Street Zone - It will be simply a large speedway system, but with some dangers and gimmicks.
Background - The original, but I will cut the lower section.
Palettes: Act 1 - Light Blue. Act 2 - Light Green. Act 3 - Light Gray. Act 4 - Gray.
    • Eggman Engine Zone - It will look like electric factory.
Background - Outside is the original, Inside will be ported from Techno Base Zone.
      Palettes: Act 1 - Blue-Gray. Act 2 - Darker. Act 3 - Even Darker. Act 4 - Brighter and Grayer.
