Well, this hack is still very impressive.. Some of the palettes are very good and I like the level names. So, keep up the good work and I can't wait for a release :p

    Thank you for your compliments.

    A new video!

The green in Dusk Drive has been toned down, by the way. This video was recorded before then.

Aaand... I just realized my mouse was on the screen for that entire video.

Hate to brag, but did you edit the special stages? I usually look for special stage edits in Sonic 1 hacks.

Not yet; I've been attempting to find a decent editor for the actual files.

All I could find was Maze-O-Matic.

Your object placing can use some work; along with Dusk Drive's song

The object placement is not final.

I mentioned in the video description that the song was a crappy placeholder.

Did you use my super sonic guide to port super sonic? If you didn't, please use it (but keep the rotating palette you ported because mine doesn't have lz4's rotating palette).

    People, read the video description.

I used your code to patch up some errors in my port. The palette is yours; mine was slightly worse.

Because Youtube does nasty things to my videos. Compare this to a Youtube one...

Yeah, but just for that Youtube does ruin the quality.

Toxic Trail is using some of the unused tiles now.

What are the opinions of the green HUD?

Incidentally, Sonic 1 With Fries now has a minisite hosted here.

I haven't been on this site in a while, but I see this hack has a lot of potential! I like the color palettes of the levels as they are different from most of the other hacks I have seen.

The green HUD seems questionable as it is hard to see against the background [maybe just in those spots in your screenshots]. Maybe try making some of the colors a little brighter? ;)

EDIT: And yeah, YouTube DOES lower the quality of the videos, but do you know about their HD Quality option? This allows members the option to have either quick loading times or better video quality [watching the video in its prime]. But whatever video streaming source you prefer using is entirely up to you!

    The HUD is yellow again.

Dusk Drive now uses buildings as a way to get through the level. It's really quite neat; there are several areas that wouldn't work if you couldn't walk on rooftops.

There's no background because the tiles for the new Dusk Drive background aren't done.

It's near Christmas, so I'm feeling generous. Here are some screens, one of which probably shouldn't be made available yet.

Top left: Icy Inferno has some new graphics, which are on show.

Top right: I've been playing with the bosses. Toxic Trail Robotnik chucks balls at you, rather than swinging them on a chain.

Bottom left: Dusk Drive is a bit different. Yes, the background sucks. It is very much a work in progress.

Bottom right: First screenshot of a Special Stage! They're non-rotating now, and, when I get around to finding something to edit them which doesn't edit savestates, will be nice little precision platforming challenges. Quite hard, too. We're talking I Wanna Be The Guy difficulty for the sixth one, here. Sonic is screwy because of a bug I have yet to find the cause of.
