    I don't care if it's triple posting; it's a valid update.

    The first demo is out!

This is around the same stage of development as the Sonic 2 Wai proto. Music is basically Rust Realm's crappy port of the Metroid title music, a port of Chemical Plant's music by Irixion from Sonic Sanctuary, and the huge Choose Your Buddy PCM from the title, which is filling the blank in Dusk Drive. None are final- Chemical Plant is actually for Icy Inferno, the Metroid port will be replaced by a superior one, and I don't want to use PCM outside of the title screen at all because of the fact that SE and the PCM driver don't get along well.

If you find any bugs not related to the PCM driver (and you will), tell me.

Super Sonic is already unlocked. Peel-Out is not unlockable. Dusk Drive Act 1, Rust Realm Act 1, and Septic Slide Act 1 are playable. They loop, so see how many cycles you can manage!

Also I noticed if you're super sonic at the second level, you'll get stuck.

Man, anything is beta objectplacement ;)

Keeps freezing on Hacktube for me, I'm guessing there are some addressing issues.

I'm not even going to use the S1 title cards in the final.

SonicVaan: Hmm? I'll be looking into that- maybe SS and the level specific code conflict?

Qjimbo: Works fine in Kega. Maybe it's just Hacktube.

Weird. If it's just PCM (Dusk Drive and the title's music) you can't hear, then it's the fact that Sonic 65's PCM driver doesn't run in Gens. Use Kega or Regen; they're better, anyway. Just did a cycle in Gens Movie Test- I could hear everything that wasn't PCM fine.

I like the music in the game, I especially like the music in Rust Realm Zone. It sounds really fitting.

The layouts are good because you have made multiple layouts in the levels which is good, even though some objects locations need to be sorted out, as some rings are inaccessible. Also a bit in the first area in when you have to jump down to the platform below you I find to be really hard to do, and I end up dying most of the time.

The Art is nice, I like the urban buildings that you have used for the background of Toxic Trail Zone.

Overall, I very promising hack. Congrats!

Yes, only Rust Realm and Title Screen are musicless... I'll try it in Kega!

I'm surprised you like the music. Dusk Drive isn't going to keep Choose Your Buddy because PCM and SE don't cooperate. Rust Realm will have a better rendition of the same track (Metroid title screen). Septic Slide's music is actually intended for Icy Inferno.

It's supposed to be hard; however, I do plan to replace the pit with spikes, which is a bit less cruel.

All object layouts are subject to change; I'm more worried about playability than looks.

What buildings? Toxic Trail is the GHZ with toxic water, and has mountains and waterfalls, like GHZ.

    I mean't Dusk Drive. =P

There is one bug which I noticed in one of my playthoughs is that once when I passed the end post of Dusk Drive Zone, Sonic just kept walking left, forcing me to reset the game.

THIS is noteworthy. It's actually luggage from a partially-implemented Sonic 3-style posing system, and will not be removed because, by next release, it'll be immaterial.

    Demo 1 Buglist:

If moving left after hitting end, Sonic will continue to move left

    PCM doesn't play in Gens

Transforming into Super Sonic in Rust Realm 1 gets you stuck

Accessing Special Stage will lead to a broken Toxic Trail test stage after completion

    Any more, tell me.

    Dusk Drive bugs:

    - Many Objects aren't placed correctly

    - The music won't pause, if you pause

    - Not anything is solid

    - The exploding bomb loads the wrong VRAM

Sorry, I will find more soon, because I have to go now... See ya ;)

Exploding bombs are actually being phased out of DDZ- they load the graphics for their replacement, Crabmeat.

    Music not pausing is intentional.

    What isn't solid?

Due to the fact that Demo 1 sucked, but this is in many ways the same demo, I present Demo 1.01- the GOOD version of Demo 1.

Some bugfixes (but, unfortunately, not the Super Sonic RRZ bug, so don't try it) and better, less confusing layouts are present.

Title still looks like ass, but the Sonic Team Presents screen now reads Afti Presents. Foreground scrolling is intentional, due to the new title graphics which are under way, but, since they aren't in a presentable state yet, there is the old title behaving in unnatural ways. Ignore it, please.

Level select is no longer neutered. That being said, anyone who complains that Grand Gardens is unplayable and its music sucks will be ignored; I released what was in a completable, enjoyable state. Anything else, you're on your own.

Anti-Sonic monitors have been implemented; invincibility is still present.

Placeholder music that doesn't suck is present. All are ports from Sonic 2 by Irixion.

Super has normal Sonic graphics still because I fail at mappings.

If you find bugs, tell me.

I suspect this may wind up as the normal release schedule- release a version for critique, then in a day or two release a fixed one.

Don't play it in Gens. Not on Hacktube because the emulator apparently doesn't run it properly.

I really do prefer a demo"beta/prototype" which is in the demo code you want to release. And you'll give it out to beta testers and they'll test your demo of bugs, which you could fix for a clean demo version of your hack to release.

Much better than the first release! But please, disable music in Pause! Also:

I works fine in Gens! :)

By the way, what's Sonic's Speed? (Top Speed and Acceleration)

Title screen doesn't play music in Gens. PCM samples for other uses won't play, either- no title music, no credits music. Besides, Gens is less accurate to the Genesis than Fusion or Regen.

Speaking of which: Can someone with a flash cart see if this runs on a Genesis?
